Dr. Mark Stetter is a zoo veterinarian by training, and for 15 years, he worked for Walt Disney World, most recently as Director of Animal Operations. In this role, he oversaw the overall health and daily care of some 15,000 animals in Disney programs and parks, as well as in Disney research and conservation projects. His purpose was ensuring animal health at some of the world’s best-known hospitality and entertainment venues. In summer 2012, he joined a different world: higher education. Stetter is dean of Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, overseeing teaching, research, and clinical service with the aim of improving the health of animals, people, and the planet. Among the college’s strategic goals is fulfilling the needs of the thriving equine, beef, and dairy industries in Colorado and beyond. Stetter is committed to animal health and well-being as a central part of economic vibrancy, and of human health and well-being.
