Cindy brings 35 years leadership experiences working with Colorado agriculture, communities and more recently dairy farm families; public policy; business engineering; former Colorado Water Quality Control Commissioner; and convening stakeholders and partnerships to her role as President and CEO for Western Dairy Association.
As a national member of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy Sustainability Council, taking a proactive approach to providing consumers with the nutritious dairy products they want, in a way that makes the industry, people and planet economically, environmentally and socially better. The council is a leading role model in the United States with many worldwide stakeholders to accomplish sustainability goals.
Ms. Haren additionally serves on the Animal Care Committee for the U.S. Dairy Industry. A unified vision for the US Dairy industry on Animal Care will continue to be a meaningful source of consumer confidence and industry pride for US Dairy.
As President and CEO, Haren has conceived and launched collaborative and inclusive strategies that have reinvigorated how the Western Dairy Association does business in the 21st century. She has aligned Western Dairy’s farming families with leaders across business, education, health, and food sectors. An effective convener, Ms. Haren has brought new partnerships and stakeholders, digital and social platforms, and direct communications to foster understanding around the essential importance dairy farming brings to communities and the nutrition and health benefits of dairy. Ethics in business and importance of family are central to her values.
Ms. Haren’s leadership in Colorado agriculture is noted with experiences as: Advisory member Colorado Livestock Care Committee to Commissioner of Ag.; national member Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy Sustainability Council and Animal Care Committee; former board member Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation; former chair Colorado Ag Council; former Colorado Water Quality Control Commission and Washington County Board of Commissioners; former member on Ag Commissioner’s Land Use Taskforce and Lt Governor’s telecommunications plan for Colorado.
Ms. Haren graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and health, K-12 education. In 2000, Ms. Haren earned a master’s degree in business from the Daniels College of Business at Denver University, with an emphasis in reengineering companies, change management and leadership.
